Basilica Block Party

COVID-19 Update

Because the health and safety of our Basilica Block Party and greater Twin Cities community is our number one priority, we will be implementing new entry protocols. Full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test (taken within 72 hours of the event) will be required to attend. Please bring a photo ID plus either proof of vaccination or a negative test result for event entry. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun event for everyone. In addition:

  1. Face masks are not required but are strongly encouraged.
  2. There will be hand sanitizing stations available throughout the site.
  3. High-touch areas will be routinely sanitized during the event.
  4. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend the event.

These are the health and safety measures in place as of August 20, 2021 and are subject to change.

Q: Why are The Avett Brothers no longer playing Basilica Block Party?

A: Out of an abundance of caution due to COVID-19 exposure, The Avett Brothers must cancel their show at Basilica Block Party on September 11 in Minneapolis. We have no current plans to reschedule their cancelled performance.

While we are disappointed, we are confident that this decision is necessary in order to ensure the health and safety of the community. We send our best wishes to The Avett Brothers and we thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Q: Are there any COVID-19 restrictions?

A: A full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test result (within 72 hours of the event) will be required to attend. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend the event.

These are the health and safety measures in place as of August 20, 2021 and are subject to change.

Q: When do I need to be fully vaccinated in order to attend on September 10 and 11?

A: Per the CDC, you are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after your second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine.

To qualify for entry into Basilica Block Party using proof of vaccination, the last day to receive the second shot of Moderna or Pfizer, or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson, is Friday, August 27 to attend both days of the festival. For those who are only attending on Saturday, September 11, the last day to receive the second shot of Moderna of Pfizer or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson is Saturday, August 28.

For more information, visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html

Q: What are accepted forms of vaccination proof?

A: Accepted forms of vaccination proof are your vaccination card, photocopy of your vaccination card, or an electronic picture of your vaccination card on your phone.

Q: When do I need to be tested and receive a negative result in order to attend on September 10 and 11?

A: In order to attend the festival on Friday, September 10, you will need to take a COVID-19 test on or after Tuesday, September 7 and receive a negative test result. If you are attending on Saturday, September 11 or both days, you will need to take a COVID-19 test on or after Wednesday, September 8 and receive a negative test result.

Q: Do I need to wear a face mask?

A: Face masks are not required but are strongly encouraged. We recommend attendees follow the mask guidelines that apply to their individual health situation.

Q: Do volunteers have to follow the COVID-19 protocols?

A: Yes, volunteers will be required to follow the same entry protocols as attendees. Volunteers will require full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result (taken within 72 hours of the event) to volunteer and attend the festival.

Q: Do children under 12 have to follow the COVID-19 protocols?

A: Children 5-12, who cannot be vaccinated, can show a negative test result to attend. We also understand that children may not have an ID to pair with their negative test result, so a guardian's ID will also be accepted.

Ticketing

Q: Is it safe to buy tickets from a source other than Etix?

We strongly recommend against purchasing tickets from unauthorized third party sellers. Ticket selling scams on social media have increased over the past several years within the event industry, and when you purchase from a seller other than Etix, you run the risk that your ticket will not be valid when scanned at the entrance. Please be aware that we are not responsible for counterfeit tickets and if your ticket is not valid, you will not be permitted to enter the festival.

All 2020 tickets were refunded. There are no 2020 tickets that are valid for entry to the 2021 event.

Q: Will tickets be available at the gate?

Yes, all types of tickets will be available at the gate beginning at noon on Friday + Saturday, subject to availability. Gate ticket prices are $80 for single-night and $140 for two-day passes. Gate sales are cash and credit card only, and there are no fees for tickets bought at the gate.

Q: When do ticket prices increase?

General admission ticket prices increase at 12:01am on August 23, 2021 to $75 for single-day and $140 for two-day passes.

Q: Does everyone need a ticket to enter the grounds?

Everyone over 4 must have a ticket to enter the grounds. A children's ticket may be purchased by phone or at the gate for children 5-12. These tickets are only valid for general admission areas and will not allow the child access to the FanZone, VIP area or Skybox. A ticket of that type must be purchased for a child to enter the area. Children's tickets will be available at the gate even if adult tickets are sold out.

Q: Are there any ticket specials for Frontline workers, medical workers, and military?

The Basilica Block Party wants to thank all our Frontline workers by offering you 2 gate tickets for the price of 1 - $80 total for both. This promotion is only available on site. Starting at Noon on Friday, September 10th and September 11th. Just come to the gate with your badge, or some proof that you are a Frontline worker. Thank you for all you do!

Getting There

Q: What's the best option for transportation?

Paid parking is available in the Minneapolis Community and Technical College parking garage, located at 1420 Hennepin Avenue S, Minneapolis, MN 55403. We also encourage you to ride your bike! We will have bike valet available on 16th Street and Hennepin by The Basilica.

Q: Is there a good hotel nearby?

Yes! One of our great sponsors, The Hilton Minneapolis, or several other options in downtown Minneapolis.

Basilica Block Party goers can enjoy a discounted rate when booking at the Hilton here.

Accessibility

Q: What accessibility options are available?

We have seating areas for individuals who require accommodation and a clear view of both the AHA Sparkling Water Stage and the Great Clips Stage. Temporary pedestrian ramps are installed to make it easier to navigate the curb at the Great Clips Stage. There is parking in the MCTC ramp for those that need accessible parking. There will also be ADA portable restrooms around the grounds. These areas are marked on the map located at the food and beverage ticket tents. If you need assistance on the grounds, find a volunteer wearing a t-shirt that says "Safety". It is their job to assist you.

We encourage guests needing accommodation to purchase an ADA designated ticket to help us plan for the capacity needed.
